2011 Tropical Garden Spectacular & Top End Sustainable Living Festival !
Welcome to the 2011 Tropical Garden Spectacular and Top End Sustainable Living Festival.
The partnership between the Nursery Garden Industry NT and the Environment Centre NT began in 2009 with the idea to combine gardening festival with sustainable living in the Top End, building on the strengths and aspirations of both organisations to promote the ways Territorians can move to a greener future.
The Festival is a not for profit event supported by the NT Government, Industry partners and sponsors with an enthusiastic and energetic coordinating committee. Bringing together innovations, products, ideas and inspiration for our environment, gardens and backyard.
You will find exhibitors, displays, environmental products, practical information, art workshops, and demonstrations to showcase what we can do to contribute to an environmentally friendly and sustainable future in the Top End. Building on last years successes, we also have a range of satellite events taking place including a Schools Day, 1 June, and the Top End Sustainable Living Festival Business Breakfast, 3 June.

The theme “Green Life Balance” is about encouraging consumers to embrace the emotional, physical, environmental and financial benefits gained by maintaining a good work/life balance and to explore new ideas and innovations on offer.
The 2011 event will again be held over a weekend – the 4th and 5th June 2011. Mark it in your diary! Once again we are fortunate to have the beautiful George Brown Darwin Botanic Gardens as a venue, and we would like to thank all of the exhibitors, visitors, organisers and sponsors who provided valuable feedback which will enable us to make improvements, including increased shade areas for exhibitors. With the increase in concern for the environment and the effect of global warming is having on our eco- systems and atmosphere, the focus will be on “Green Life Balance” and will provide inspirational ideas on how to improve the environmental and social impacts of day to day living.
